Computer Engineering

An External Stakeholder Meeting was held by the Department of Computer Engineering in 25.06.2026 at Alanya University, aimed at improving the department's educational activities, updating them in line with sector expectations, and strengthening university-industry cooperation.

The meeting brought together representatives from the industry, guests from public and private institutions, and the department's academic staff. During the discussions, evaluations were made regarding the development of the department's educational vision in line with technological advances in the field of computer engineering, preparing students more effectively for current technologies, and increasing graduate competencies.

Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of incorporating current fields of study—such as artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and software development—more effectively into the curriculum. In addition, suggestions were shared to support an increase in multidisciplinary projects and research that would enable computer engineering to collaborate with different disciplines such as healthcare, tourism, energy, the defense industry, and smart city applications.

Participants exchanged views on regularly updating course content in line with industry needs, strengthening a practice-oriented approach to education, involving students more in project-based learning processes, and increasing internship and industry collaborations. Attention was also drawn to the importance of expanding certification programs, technical training, seminars, and events with industry professionals to support students' professional development.

The meeting also included joint assessments on increasing graduates' employability, supporting an entrepreneurial culture, establishing more effective collaborations with external stakeholders in national and international research projects, and making stakeholder contributions to the department's continuous improvement efforts more sustainable.

Alanya University's Department of Computer Engineering will continue to evaluate the opinions and suggestions received from external stakeholders within the scope of quality assurance processes, and will resolutely continue its efforts toward the continuous development of its educational program, building strong partnerships with industry, and training qualified computer engineers suited to the demands of the era.
