Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehmet KARAKOÇ

Dr. Mehmet KARAKOÇ was born in Antalya on June 1987. Here, he completed his primary and high school educations. He received his BS and MS degrees on August 2009 and August 2011, respectively, at the Department of Computer Engineering in Pamukkale University, Denizli. At the same department, he received his PhD degree on February 2016 from Ege University, İzmir. During his PhD, while working on a novel type of vehicle routing problem, he worked as a developer in the private sector. He had many lectures related to various topics outside-the-university (course-centers and private-lessons) and contributed to some in-university courses. From August 2012 to December 2014, he worked in Sinaps Software for an agency where he developed the online travel-agency software working both as a desktop-based application and through any web-browser with a model-driven architecture logic to perform all tourism operations. From June 2014 to December 2017, he worked at the Computer Sciences Research and Application Centre (CRAC) in Akdeniz University on the information management system (IMS) including a set of Java-based web projects and both on in-unit and his individual researches. From December 2018 to May 2019, as a senior R&D engineer, in Bilkav Training Consultancy Inc. (-OptiWisdom Consultancy, Education & Software Inc.-) at Antalya Technopolis, he contributed to the company’s ongoing TÜBİTAK projects for literature review and improving and developing the R&D parts. His main research areas are digital image processing, artificial intelligence with genetic algorithms and artificial neural networks, intelligent-transportation-systems, optimization problems such as path planning, scheduling, traveling salesman and vehicle routing, and computer-based assessment (CBA) systems. In addition, he is interested in (i) data management, (ii) information retrieval, (iii) information management systems and (iv) web services. Besides, he (1) develops applications, (2) makes contributions, and (3) conducts academic studies (topics regarding his doctoral dissertation and areas of interest) for many working areas regarding the field of computer science. Dr. Karakoç has been working as a faculty member at the Department of Computer Engineering in Alanya University since April 2019.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Merve DOĞAN

Dr. Merve Doğan completed her undergraduate education at the Department of Physics at Istanbul University in 2012, and then received her master's degree from Istanbul University in 2015. She then received her PhD degree at the Department of Physics from Istanbul University in 2019. She completed her master studies at the RCNP Laboratory supported by Osaka University, studying on nuclear structure, and achieved her PhD studies at the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research Laboratory in Germany as a guest researcher. She completed her thesis studies on detector system characterization on high energy physics. After completing her PhD, she gave lectures in several Universities as a lecturer. By year 2025, Dr. Doğan has bennn working as an assistant professor at the Department of Computer Engineering in Alanya University.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umut TOSUN
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umut Tosun received his undergraduate degree from Izmir Institute of Technology Computer Engineering Department, his master's degree from Bilkent University Computer Engineering Department, and his doctorate from Middle East Technical University Computer Engineering Department. After working as a software engineer at Cybersoft, Aselsan, Argela and Siemens companies, he worked as an assistant professor at Başkent University Computer Engineering Department between 2013-2015. After that, he worked as a software engineer at Anca Motion in Australia. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umut Tosun worked on Database Management Systems and Distributed Database Design in his MSc and PhD thesis studies. Our faculty member continues his research on big data, computer networks and security, internet of things and blockchain.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin KUSETOĞULLARI
Dr. Kusetogulları received his PhD degree from the School of Engineering, University of Warwick, UK, in 2012. After completing his PhD, he worked as a Post-Doc researcher in the Image Processing and Expert Systems Laboratory in the School of Engineering at Warwick University, UK. After that, he worked on multiobjectivisation problems at the Department of Computer Science at Aberystwyth University as a Research Associate. Between 2015 and 2019, he worked as a Post-Doc researcher for the Big Data project in the Department of Computer Science at Blekinge Institute of Technology. He is currently working as Asst. Prof. in the Department of Computer Engineering at Alanya University, Alanya, Turkey. His research interests are mainly in Machine learning, Computer Vision and Optimization algorithms.

Res. Asst. Caner SONGÜL
He completed his undergraduate education in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Akdeniz University, which he started in 2010, graduating in 2014. In 2017, he began his master's studies in the Department of Computer Engineering at Akdeniz University, completing his degree in 2021 with a thesis titled 'KI67 Labeling in Gliomas with Artificial Intelligence.' Since 2021, he has been pursuing his doctoral studies in the Department of Computer Engineering at Akdeniz University. He started his position as a Research Assistant in the Department of Computer Engineering at Alanya University in 2019, where he continues to work. Additionally, he has been working as the Head of the Information Technology Department at Alanya University since 2022.

Res. Asst. Ali Osman AYDOĞDU
Ali Osman Aydoğdu completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of Mathematics at Selçuk University Faculty of Science and Letters from 2019 to 2023. During his undergraduate studies, he gained in-depth knowledge in fundamental areas of mathematics. As of 2024, he has started his master's program in the Department of Geometry at Selçuk University's Department of Mathematics. His master's thesis is focused on "Theory of Curves and Surfaces in Euclidean and Minkowski-Lorentz Spaces," and he continues his academic work in this field. Currently, Ali Osman Aydoğdu is in the coursework phase of his master's program in the Department of Geometry at Selçuk University, while also serving as a Research Assistant in the Department of Computer Engineering at Alanya University.

Dr. Metin SAGULAR
Born in Istanbul. Went to Germany with his family and studied Electronics from the University of Düsseldorf and Cologne, respectively, in 1980. He graduated as an Engineer. Worked in Munich, Germany between 1980-1983 as Sales Engineer. He worked at GENERAL ELECTRIC Company Deutschland between 1984 and 1992, and in 1989 he was transferred to the Drive Systems Department of the same company in Virginia, USA, and worked as a Project Manager. Meanwhile, he worked as a faculty member in the Computer Engineering Department at Old Dominion University in the same state in 1991 and at New River Community College in 1992. Conducted research on Software, Drive Systems and Economic Analysis and received his Ph.D. degree from Columbia Pacific University in California, USA in 1992. He received the title of Doctor. Performed Post Doc Research in 1992-1993 Worked at the WORLD BANK, Washington, D.C. as Team Leader for Project Funding ARGENTINA Country. In 1993, TRANE KLIMA TİC. was offered to him in New York. He returned home to establish A.Ş. in Istanbul and served as the founding CEO and General Manager of the company. Since 1996 He has been working as an Independent Management Consultant and provides Training and Studies to reach sustainable growth to small-medium-sized Institutions and Companies.

Mustafa Kemal Salman is a professional with international experience in creative industries and technology sector. He completed his undergraduate studies in Communication Arts at Anadolu University's Faculty of Communication Sciences and Marketing Communication at International Advertising Association (IAA). He held senior creative positions at leading global advertising agencies in Istanbul, and subsequently managed communication strategies for national and global brands through his own agency and production company, while also delivering conferences and certification training upon invitation from the Republic of Turkey Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade. In post-Soviet countries, he produced advertising films, created brands, and executed cinematographic productions, while contributing to the technology-oriented entrepreneurship ecosystem through his projects in digital technology and collaborations with leading digital technology companies. He was invited as a guest lecturer to prestigious universities in the region, where he conducted workshops, masterclasses, and courses. He provided consultancy in soft product design and unique selling proposition (USP) development for a UK-based NFT technology startup, and just before returning to Turkey, he completed a sports apparel brand development project for the Australian market. Rather than following a linear career path, he has shaped his career according to his talents and interests, focusing on hybrid solutions to complex problems by combining his knowledge in sociology, consumer behavior, anthropology, art, and design with digital technologies and artificial intelligence. He embraces a multidisciplinary and multicultural approach.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Raziye DEMİRALAY
Dr. Raziye Demiralay was born on 01.04.1985 in Isparta and completed her primary and high school education in Antalya. She completed her undergraduate education at Dokuz Eylül University Buca Faculty of Education, Computer Education and Instructional Technology Teaching Programme in 2006 and received her ‘Bachelor's Degree’. She successfully completed his master's degree with thesis in Computer Education and Instructional Technology at Gazi University Institute of Educational Sciences in 2008, and then completed his doctoral studies in Educational Technologies at the same institute in 2014 and earned the title of ‘Ph.D’. Having started his academic career as a lecturer at various universities, Dr Demiralay has been actively working at Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vocational School within Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University since 2021. She has also contributed to the transfer of applied knowledge by giving lectures on various subjects in course centres and private course environments outside the university. Her research interests include web design and programming, artificial intelligence, instructional design, needs analysis, instructional technologies and game development.

Dr. Ulduz MAMMADOVA ÖZEL
Dr. Ulduz Mammadova completed her undergraduate studies in the Department of Statistics at Azerbaijan State University of Economics between 2009 and 2013. She then pursued a Master's degree in Statistics at Çukurova University, where she graduated in 2017 with a thesis titled "Generalized Linear Model-Based Control Charts with Poisson Response." She continued her academic journey at Çukurova University, earning a PhD in 2022 with her dissertation "Monitoring Conway-Maxwell-Poisson Profiles Under Multicollinearity." Her research interests lie in applied statistics, regression analysis, statistical quality control, and data science. Her work, published in international journals, primarily focuses on detecting the out-of-control state of the industrial process by using regression-based control charts in the presence of multicollinearity. Dr. Mammadova has also presented at various international conferences. Her current research covers applied statistics and data science fields. Dr. Ulduz Mammadova is furthering her academic career in the Department of Computer Engineering at Alanya University.
