Message of the Head of Department
Computer Engineering is a major engineering discipline that integrates various fields of computer science and electronic engineering to address hardware and software challenges, as well as to design effective hardware–software interfaces. The field focuses on digital hardware systems, computer architectures, and the software that controls them, while also covering the design, development, and operation of modern computer systems. Our faculty members and students are trained to contribute wherever computing technologies are applied or complex problem solving is required.
Within our Computer Engineering undergraduate curriculum, students gain knowledge in key areas such as database management systems, programming languages, web and mobile programming, data communications and computer networks, software engineering, project design, and software project management. This background enables our graduates to pursue careers as database specialists, software developers, application programmers, web/mobile developers, network specialists, or project leaders in industry or as independent professionals.
Our program also offers elective courses and project opportunities in contemporary fields including computer graphics, image processing, data mining, artificial intelligence, artificial neural networks, machine learning, and data science, allowing students to specialize according to their interests and career goals.
With a qualified academic staff experienced in both research and industry practice, we aim to educate computer engineers who are well prepared for professional careers as well as academic advancement. In addition to the senior capstone project, professional seminars and career preparation activities are organized to support students’ transition into professional life.
