Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umut Tosun received his undergraduate degree from Izmir Institute of Technology Computer Engineering Department, his master's degree from Bilkent University Computer Engineering Department, and his doctorate from Middle East Technical University Computer Engineering Department. After working as a software engineer at Cybersoft, Aselsan, Argela and Siemens companies, he worked as an assistant professor at Başkent University Computer Engineering Department between 2013-2015. After that, he worked as a software engineer at Anca Motion in Australia. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umut Tosun worked on Database Management Systems and Distributed Database Design in his MSc and PhD thesis studies. Our faculty member continues his research on big data, computer networks and security, internet of things and blockchain.

Dr. Mehmet KARAKOÇ was born in Antalya on June 1987. Here, he completed his primary and high school educations. He received his BS and MS degrees on August 2009 and August 2011, respectively, at the Department of Computer Engineering in Pamukkale University, Denizli. At the same department, he received his PhD degree on February 2016 from Ege University, İzmir. During his PhD, while working on a novel type of vehicle routing problem, he worked as a developer in the private sector. He had many lectures related to various topics outside-the-university (course-centers and private-lessons) and contributed to some in-university courses. From August 2012 to December 2014, he worked in Sinaps Software for an agency where he developed the online travel-agency software working both as a desktop-based application and through any web-browser with a model-driven architecture logic to perform all tourism operations. From June 2014 to December 2017, he worked at the Computer Sciences Research and Application Centre (CRAC) in Akdeniz University on the information management system (IMS) including a set of Java-based web projects and both on in-unit and his individual researches. From December 2018 to May 2019, as a senior R&D engineer, in Bilkav Training Consultancy Inc. (-OptiWisdom Consultancy, Education & Software Inc.-) at Antalya Technopolis, he contributed to the company’s ongoing TÜBİTAK projects for literature review and improving and developing the R&D parts. His main research areas are digital image processing, artificial intelligence with genetic algorithms and artificial neural networks, intelligent-transportation-systems, optimization problems such as path planning, scheduling, traveling salesman and vehicle routing, and computer-based assessment (CBA) systems. In addition, he is interested in (i) data management, (ii) information retrieval, (iii) information management systems and (iv) web services. Besides, he (1) develops applications, (2) makes contributions, and (3) conducts academic studies (topics regarding his doctoral dissertation and areas of interest) for many working areas regarding the field of computer science. Dr. Karakoç has been working as a faculty member at the Department of Computer Engineering in Alanya University since April 2019.

Dr. Merve Doğan completed her undergraduate education at the Department of Physics at Istanbul University in 2012, and then received her master's degree from Istanbul University in 2015. She then received her PhD degree at the Department of Physics from Istanbul University in 2019. She completed her master studies at the RCNP Laboratory supported by Osaka University, studying on nuclear structure, and achieved her PhD studies at the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research Laboratory in Germany as a guest researcher. She completed her thesis studies on detector system characterization on high energy physics. After completing her PhD, she gave lectures in several Universities as a lecturer. By year 2025, Dr. Doğan has bennn working as an assistant professor at the Department of Computer Engineering in Alanya University.

Dr. Ersin Ersoy completed his Associate Degree in Computer Programming at Marmara University in 2001, his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Education at Kocaeli University in 2009, his MBA at Istanbul Bilgi University in 2012, his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering at Kocaeli University in 2020, his Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering at Özyeğin University in 2016, and his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering at Özyeğin University in 2022. He has taught undergraduate and graduate level courses at Nişantaşı and Üsküdar Universities. His academic research focuses on artificial intelligence and software engineering. His notable publications include “Using Artificial Neural Networks to Provide Guidance in Extending PL/SQL Programs” (Software Quality Journal, 2022), “Effort Estimation for Architectural Refactoring of Data Tier Software” (ICSA, 2022), “A Longitudinal Case Study on Nexus Transformation: Impact on Productivity, Quality, and Motivation” (Journal of Software: Evolution and Process, 2024), and “Extending Static Code Analysis with Application-Specific Rules by Analyzing Runtime Execution Traces” (ISCIS, 2016).

Naci Er was appointed as a Research Assistant in the Department of Mathematics at Akdeniz University in 2012. He completed the master’s degree that he started in 2011 in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences at Eskişehir Osmangazi University in 2014 at the Department of Mathematics, Akdeniz University. In his master’s thesis, he worked on category theory, which forms the foundations of functional programming. At Akdeniz University, he conducted studies on coding theory and on digital image watermarking using space-filling curves. During the same period, he also worked on the characterization of integer partitions corresponding to Arf numerical semigroups. He submitted his Ph.D. dissertation in 2022 with the title “Digital Watermarking for Color Images Using the SFC Method.” He taught undergraduate and graduate-level courses on cryptology, network security, information and coding theory, and computability theory at various universities. Since 2023, he has been working as an Assistant Professor at Alanya University. His research areas are color theory, signal/image processing, computability theory, and algebra and number theory.

Dr. Ulduz Mammadova completed her undergraduate studies in the Department of Statistics at Azerbaijan State University of Economics between 2009 and 2013. She then pursued a Master's degree in Statistics at Çukurova University, where she graduated in 2017 with a thesis titled "Generalized Linear Model-Based Control Charts with Poisson Response." She continued her academic journey at Çukurova University, earning a PhD in 2022 with her dissertation "Monitoring Conway-Maxwell-Poisson Profiles Under Multicollinearity." Her research interests lie in applied statistics, regression analysis, statistical quality control, and data science. Her work, published in international journals, primarily focuses on detecting the out-of-control state of the industrial process by using regression-based control charts in the presence of multicollinearity. Dr. Mammadova has also presented at various international conferences. Her current research covers applied statistics and data science fields. Dr. Ulduz Mammadova is furthering her academic career in the Department of Computer Engineering at Alanya University.

Ali Osman Aydoğdu completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of Mathematics at Selçuk University Faculty of Science and Letters from 2019 to 2023. During his undergraduate studies, he gained in-depth knowledge in fundamental areas of mathematics. As of 2024, he has started his master's program in the Department of Geometry at Selçuk University's Department of Mathematics. His master's thesis is focused on "Theory of Curves and Surfaces in Euclidean and Minkowski-Lorentz Spaces," and he continues his academic work in this field. Currently, Ali Osman Aydoğdu is in the coursework phase of his master's program in the Department of Geometry at Selçuk University, while also serving as a Research Assistant in the Department of Computer Engineering at Alanya University.

Burak Keskin received his B.Sc. degree in Mechatronics Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering at Turkish Aeronautical Association University in 2018. During his undergraduate studies, he took courses in Electrical-Electronics, Mechanics and Control Engineering, gaining experience in multidisciplinary fields. He completed his Master's degree in Computer Engineering at the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Akdeniz University, between 2019 and 2022. His thesis, entitled “Auto Grading of Answers for Text-based Open-ended Questions Using Natural Language Processing”, focused on the automatic evaluation of text-based open-ended questions using transformer architectures. As of 2025, he is pursuing his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering at the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Süleyman Demirel University, and is currently serving as a Research Assistant at Alanya University, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Department of Computer Engineering.
